Since graduating from high school the visible highlights of my life have been:
Continuing my education (Bachelor of Arts from Goshen College, Master of Music from University of Wisconsin at Madison, also a summer of philosophy at Taylor University and a summer of language and culture at Berlin University, East Germany);
Teaching piano performance and pedagogy (back to Goshen College as professor and then at Indiana University at South Bend);
Establishing my own studio in Ohio (Hooley Piano Studio) through which I teach 30-40 students each year;
Marrying John Paul Carlisle (1992);
Traveling throughout western Europe (mostly as a student-bum with backpack and Eurorail pass!);
Becoming Catholic (1986… anything can happen in Madison!);
Serving as a liturgical musician;
and simply enjoying life with family and friends!
In my free-time I like to relax, exercise, shop, drink coffee, indulge in chocolate (especially Marie’s!), laugh, etc. with family and friends; read; write; play with my cats; "surf the net"; and savor the gift of Life!
Best wishes to all my classmates. Peace of Christ be with you and yours! ~ Mary Louise Hooley Carlisle
