Dell’s Customer Service is Scum

I just had a terrible experience w/ Dell. I was having technical problems w/ my Dell laptop. I contacted Dell for help. Their agent convinced me to dump my WindowsLive OneSource (I still had 6 mos. left on my year’s subscription!) and to purchase the Norton Internet Security 2009 AND the Webroot Spy Sweeper. The agent downloaded the temporary Norton product for me and sent the rest by mail. He advised me I needed the Spy Sweeper for one component the Norton 2009 lacked.

It’s true Dell solved the original problem I was having, but other problems followed. After 2 more sessions w/ Dell On-Call (and all of these sessions lasted over 90 minutes!!!!), I still had "freezing windows" and other performance problems on my laptop. Today’s agent explained that I should never had had these 2 systems installed together, and the best solution was to uninstall the Spy Sweeper. The only other solution would be to return my laptop to factory condition. So now I’m out the money spent on WindowsLive OneCare and Spy Sweeper. Also I’m out countless hours struggling w/ these problems.

I contacted Dell’s customer service requesting some kind of reimbursement/ compensation/ restitution. They offered NOTHING!

Absolutely nothing!

I don’t understand how a company can stay in business when it makes no effort to right its wrongs.
I don’t understand how the administrators of Dell can live w/ themselves knowing their word is empty.

Why trust Dell?
Anyone want to defend Dell?
Is this the way of all modern business?
What a scam!

  1. I have also had so many troubles with my antivirus. The best antivirus as far as i know is MC Afee. I am using it and it is really good. and for spyware use SUPER anti spyware software. I am using these too. and they r really good. Stop using norton and windows one care. they are primitive. …ok..take care. hope your pc gets healed soon.
